Kris and Emilee Lacer were married just a few scant weeks before war called him away in 2014. This time, however, the young Soldier and his bride will get to spend this Christmas together.
The Simpsonville couple, who met and fell in love as Mauldin High School students, were reunited over the weekend following Lacer’s deployment to Afghanistan. Wife, Emilee, daughter Kelly and friends, welcomed Lacer home at the Sea Hawk home game in Seattle.
“We’ve been married for 4 years, but were only together for two weeks of it,” Lacer said. Emilee said the couple depended on letters and Skype to help bridge the distance.
Kris, an infantrymen with the 10th Mountain Division Charlie Company, said he is looking forward to time with his wife and daughter before the couple move to North Carolina to complete his military duty.
